BIO
Acting since the age of 5, Mala Wright has appeared in over 90 projects for film, television, and online streaming platforms. Her appearances include supporting/day player roles in such independent films as A Place In Hell, Happy Yummy Chicken, 15 Till Midnight, 6 Models in Hell, Prince of Broadway, Cut To Black, The City Is Mine, Sucka 4 Luv, and Blissfully Unmarried. On television, Mala has appeared on FBI, Extreme Forensics, Cinematherapy, The Dr. Oz Show, The Nate Berkus Show, Impractical Jokers, Deadbeat, Curvy Girls, The Jury Speaks, The Killer Closer, and in the Troma Entertainment segment of the 2010 NY auditions for So You Think You Can Dance for FOX. She has also appeared in roles in Grimoire, Demon Doctor, and in Philly's Greatest Realtor. Mala also appeared in the Troma Entertainment comedy, Shakespeare’s Sh*tstorm in scenes with Troma legend, Lloyd Kaufman. Her upcoming projects include Crossroads, FDates, and the comedy film, Trumpacolypse. Mala has also appeared in 6 installments of the sketch comedy show, Wawapalooza to sold-out audiences in Philadelphia. In 2023, Success In The Arts Awards (SITA) nominated Mala's acting reel for Best Actor's Reel. Mala is a graduate and holds degrees from Rider University and Mercer County Community College. She attended Villa Victoria Academy from grades K-12. At Villa Victoria, Mala became the first minority to be awarded the Father Godfrey Scholarship Award. She is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA. Mala is also a voiceover artist, knitwear designer, writer, and children’s cartoonist.
